FitFlop picks Venda, DHL to support e-commerce launch

FitFlop Footwear, the supplier of the "footwear phenomenon" of the same name, has appointed DHL Supply Chain to support its direct entry into the e-commerce market.

The operation focuses specifically on the brand’s e-commerce fulfilment, offering delivery either next day or within 48 hours. The arrangement is said to have been timed to coincide with FitFlop’s e-commerce site launch, which was expected to bring in thousands of orders a week.

The company has chosen Venda to supply a scaleable e-commerce platform for the site, and is also using various Venda options such as Venda Flash Merchandising to deliver interactive and engaging merchandising across the site.

FitFlop has been working with Spark Response for the past two years to provide fulfilment of retail orders, but the e-commerce operation is a new development.

DHL will manage a full range of services from product receipt, storage, pick and pack (including inspection) through to verification of returns. The logistics provider will also support Christmas gift-wrapping, packaging recycling and multiple order placements.

The service is being provided through DHL Supply Chain’s shared-user operation, allowing for expansion as the retailer’s multi-channel business grows.

FitFlop won the of the 2009 Footwear Plus Design Excellence Award, and is said to have has sold over 6 million sandals, boots, slides and shoes in 48 countries worldwide since its launch in 2007.
